If 81 days have passed since conception, then the blood after theoperation is considered nifas (post-natal bleeding) because the fetus begins to form at this stage. However, if the fetus is expelled before this period, then the blood is considered irregular bleeding (dam fasad) which does not prevent prayer or fasting. In such a case, both prayer and fasting must be made up if they were missed.
