What is the ruling on visiting the graves of awliya (saints) after every prayer and seeking closeness to them, such as the grave of Al-Aidaroos in Yemen?

Visiting graves at every prayer is blameworthy extremism. Flattering the grave and asking its inhabitant to fulfill needs is a grave abomination and a major sin. The religion of Islam is built upon two fundamental principles: worshipping Allah alone without associating partners with Him, and worshipping Him according to what He has legislated through the words of His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Supplication (Du'a) is a great act of worship, and supplicating to other than Allah is polytheism (shirk) that Allah does not forgive. The Quran, Sunnah, and scholarly consensus (Ijma') have all affirmed the prohibition of supplicating to other than Allah, even if the intention is to draw closer to Allah through intermediaries, which is what some ignorant Muslims do today, imitating the actions of the polytheists. Whoever dies while supplicating to a rival alongside Allah will enter the Fire. Making intermediaries between the servant and his Lord, whom one supplicates to and asks from, is an act of disbelief according to the consensus of the people of knowledge.
