Is it permissible to mention a Hadith with its chain of transmission after changing some of its wordings, or is it better to say, "It was narrated from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace"? And is narrating a Hadith by its meaning restricted to oral mention, or does it include writing for the purpose of Dawah (Islamic دعوت)?

It is preferable to narrate the Hadith with its original wording to preserve the meaning. Narrating by meaning is less preferred and is conditioned on the narrator being knowledgeable of the connotations of the words and what might distort their meanings. As for mentioning the chain of narration (sanad), its ruling is permissibility, whether the Hadith is narrated verbatim or by meaning. It is emphasized for the writer to transmit the Hadith with its original wording whenever possible.
