To what extent is it permissible for an eight-year-old girl to be raised by her maternal aunt?

There is no objection to theening of the aunt to her sister's daughter if she is qualified for it and no one with a greater right contests her, while noting the obligation for the girl to observe hijab from her aunt's sons and her aunt's husband (if he is not a mahram) when she reaches the age of nine. Care must be taken to raise her and her brother upon the creed and morals of Islam and to memorize the Qur'an, seeking reward from Allah.
