The answer

It is not permissible for a Muslim to invoke the attributes of Allah, such as saying: "O Face of Allah" or "O Knowledge of Allah." Rather, he must invoke Allah by His Beautiful Names, such as saying: "O Allah" or "O Most Merciful." It is, however, recommended to seek intercession through the attributes of Allah, such as saying: "O Allah, I ask You by virtue of Your greatness" or "by Your immense power."
