What are the conditions for the guardian (wali) in a marriage contract, with mention of the applicable laws in Syria, Egypt, and Jordan?

Scholars stipulate six conditions for the guardian (wali): sanity, puberty, freedom, masculinity, unity of religion, and رشْد (sound judgment - the ability to identify a suitable match and the interests of marriage). If the closest guardian withholds consent (عضل), guardianship transfers to the next closest guardian. The ruler (Sultan) is the guardian of one who has no guardian. The most rightful of guardians to give a woman in marriage is her father, then her grandfather, then her son, then the full brother, then the half-brother, then the closest relative, and so on. If a condition is not met in the closest guardian, guardianship transfers to the one who follows him in order.
