Is there an esoteric interpretation of some verses other than what is apparent from them?

Interpretation has categories: Some are correct, supported by evidence that favors diverting the word from its apparent meaning. This is present in some verses. And some are false, without any evidence, like the interpretations of the Bāṭiniyya who turn verses into symbols; this is rejected. Sheikh Ibn 'Uthaymīn explained that the Qur'an does not contain symbolic meanings because that would contradict its clarity, and because it is a clarification for everything, its verses have been detailed, it has been described as "clear" (al-Mubīn), and it was made Arabic for comprehension and understanding. If symbols are forbidden in prescriptive rulings (Aḥkām Taklīfiyyah), then they are entirely forbidden in pure narratives; otherwise, people would tamper with the words of Allah and His Messenger, and the Sharia would become void.
