Drawing animate beings is prohibited by the majority of scholars. It is also forbidden to buy and sell jewelry that carries images of animate beings, due to the prohibition of selling unlawful items. Therefore, if chains include an image of something with a soul, they must be removed, and wearing them is forbidden. It is permissible to melt them down, change their form, or obliterate the image in a way that removes its characteristic as a picture.
