Is the debt (due to) religion upon me or upon my father, considering that I received a portion of a grant that I was not entitled to, neither Islamically nor legally, without my knowledge at the time, and then I refrained from taking the rest after I became aware, and the state is demanding the return of the grant plus 10% of its value?

If the grant was obtained through false pretenses, then the statement: "I did not know that I did not meet its conditions when I took it" is not valid. If the questioner took an installment after knowing she was not eligible, then she must return the amount, based on the hadith: "On the hand is what it took until it fulfills it." The father can seek recourse from his daughter if she has wealth, otherwise, it is a debt upon her.
