Why does a husband deny his wife's contribution to building the house and buying the car and furniture, even though her salary is fully at his disposal?

The wife's money is her exclusive property. It is not permissible for the husband to take any of it except with her willing consent. If he takes anything from it without her permission, it is a forbidden transgression, and he must return it. The wife is not obligated to spend on the house or the children if the husband is capable of doing so. Nor is she obliged to help him purchase a house or a car unless she volunteers to do so with a good heart. The husband should thank her, and the wife should not follow up her kindness with reminders of her favors.
