Some scholars mentioned that they are unaware of any differing opinion regarding the purity of water whose smell has changed due to its proximity to a carcass. This is supported by the hadith: "Indeed, water is pure, unless its taste, color, or smell is changed by an impurity that occurs within it." It is preferable to avoid it if possible, but if unadulterated water is available, that is better.
