Is it permissible to masturbate to relieve the pain of semen retention?

Masturbation is forbidden unless there is an extreme necessity, such as the fear of falling into zina (unlawful sexual intercourse) or sodomy, or for a medical need, or the fear of harm from semen retention, provided that the limit of necessity is not exceeded. If the act is due to pain, there is no sin in it.
