Is responding to "How are you?" with "Ahmadullah ilayk" a Sunnah, what does it mean, and how is it pronounced with diacritics?

It is commendable, when someone inquires about another's well-being, to respond: "Ahmadu Allahu ilayk (I praise Allah to you)." This has been narrated in a hadith from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, where he said to a man who asked him, "How are you this morning?" and he replied, "Ahmadu Allahu ilayk." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, then said, "This is what I wanted from you." It is also narrated that Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, was asked about his condition and he replied, "Ahmadu Allahu ilayk." The meaning of "Ahmadu Allahu ilayk" is that I praise Allah with a praise that reaches you and informs you of Allah's blessings upon me, or I praise Allah with you. This demonstrates gratitude and praise to Allah. If one merely says "Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah)," the objective of praising Allah has been achieved.
