Istikhara prayer is recommended when a person is about to undertake a matter in which they do not know the right course of action. So, he should perform it even if he remembers the girl during it. It is permissible to repeat it, and then he should do what his heart inclines to. He must cut off contact with the girl. There is no objection to him asking Allah for success and ease in marrying her during prostration () or after the prayer. As for bowing (ruku'), it is preferable to limit it to glorifying Allah.
