Is the removal of the substance of the impurity sufficient to purify a hand covered with oil or cream, or one that has greasy secretions, if it is soiled with urine or blood, based on the Hanafis' view that the removal of the substance of the impurity is sufficient for purification, even without the removal of its traces?

If the hand becomes impure and has oil on it (such as cooking oil, creams, or skin oil), washing it with water is sufficient to purify both the hand and the oil.

However, if blood contaminates the hand, it must be washed until its trace is removed. A trace is excused if its removal is difficult, such as a remaining bloodstain. The majority of jurists hold that it is obligatory to remove the color of the impurity if it is easy to do so, but if its removal is difficult, the remaining color does not cause harm.
