Is it better to stand between the pillars to complete the first row, or behind the first row, if the first row between the pillars is complete?

The first row for men is better and has a greater reward. There is a prohibition against standing in a row between the pillars of the mosque unless there is a need. Scholars have differed regarding the first row if it is interrupted by something like a pillar or a minbar. The correct opinion is that the first row, which is directly behind the Imam, retains the virtue of the first row, even if it is interrupted by a pillar or a minbar. So, whoever finds the first row complete between the pillars, it is better for him to stand with the worshipers on the other side of the pillar to attain the virtue of the first row.
