What is the ruling on "ghilah" in Islam?

"Al-Ghayla" refers to a husband having intercourse with his breastfeeding wife, or a pregnant woman breastfeeding her child. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, intended to forbid it but ultimately did not, explaining that the Romans and Persians did so without harm to their children. Scholars have explained that the reason for the prohibition was fear of the milk harming the infant, and that physicians considered such milk a disease. However, no prohibition of al-ghayla by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has been established, as authentic narrations indicate its permissibility, and the narration that forbids it is weak. Al-ghayla is neither forbidden nor disliked, and there is no harm in abstaining from it as a precaution for the child.
