Is it obligatory to free a slave on behalf of the deceased who caused the death of his cousin in a car accident, knowing that he died an hour before him?

If it is proven that the son caused the accident through his negligence (speeding, not checking the tires, driving while fatigued), then two things are incumbent upon him:

1. Diyya (blood money): This is obligatory upon his Aqila (paternal kinsmen).

2. Kaffara (expiation): This necessitates the freeing of a slave. If he cannot find one, then feeding sixty poor persons from his estate if he has wealth. Otherwise, it is not obligatory upon his heirs.
