The Islamic has permitted the oppressed to supplicate against their oppressor, based on Allah Almighty’s saying: {Allah does not like the public utterance of evil, except by one who has been wronged} [An-Nisa’: 148], and the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and Allah." However, it is better to forgive the oppressor, as it is a characteristic of the pious and a cause for Allah’s forgiveness. Therefore, there is no harm in supplicating against the husband's mother if she has committed injustice, but forgiveness is better.
