What is the ruling regarding someone who severs communication and greetings with his companion because when they are reconciled they commit evil, but when they are separated they do good?

It is forbidden to abandon a Muslim for more than three days, except for a legitimate reason, according to the hadith: "It is not permissible for a Muslim to abandon his brother for more than three nights." However, abandonment is permissible if it serves a benefit or prevents harm, such as abandoning someone whose conversation brings about a deficiency in religion or harm to oneself or one's worldly affairs, or abandoning those who openly commit sins. So, if the companionship of two individuals leads to sin, and their uprightness is achieved through separation, then separation between them is obligatory to avoid sin.
