What is the ruling on someone who is overtaken by the Fajr Adhan while he is engaging in sexual intercourse, and should he stop intercourse if stopping it might cause harm?

The jurists are of the opinion that for one who is overtaken by the call to prayer (adhan) while engaging in intercourse: if he stops intercourse upon hearing the adhan, then he is not required to make up the fast (qada') nor offer expiation (kaffara), according to most of them. But if he continues after hearing the adhan, then he is required to make up the fast and offer expiation.
