Is the marriage contract valid despite the father not verbally authorizing the marriage?

If a father contracts a marriage for his mature, sane son, and the son agrees to it without objection, then the contract is valid. The Hanafis hold that the marriage contract of an unauthorized person ( فضولي ) is suspended until ratified by the one who has the authority to ratify it. The majority of scholars hold that the son's presence and silence, coupled with his lack of objection, indicate consent.
