The historical figures mentioned in the the Quran and , we affirm their existence and the authenticity of what is attributed to them, and there is no way to prove this except from the Quran and Sunnah. There is nothing in the Quran or Sunnah to indicate that the Samaritan is the Antichrist (Al-Masih ad-Dajjal). The questioner's inference about the Samaritan's ability to see angels is incorrect, because seeing angels is possible for those who are not prophets, as happened to some companions. His inference that Moses, peace be upon him, spoke gently to the Samaritan is incorrect, as this does not prevent him from speaking calmly to present the argument. The Samaritan was punished in this world by being prevented from mingling with people, then Moses, peace be upon him, burned his calf and scattered it in the sea.
