The best cure for masturbation is marriage. If it is highly probable that marriage will help one abandon it, then marriage becomes obligatory, provided one can afford it, even if there is no fear of committing fornication. This is because abandoning masturbation is obligatory, and marriage is the best means to fulfill this obligation. Ibn Abidin mentioned that marriage becomes obligatory if one cannot restrain oneself from forbidden gazes or from masturbating with the hand.
