How can the fatwa prohibiting the publication of images without necessity be reconciled with the fatwa permitting young people to publish their images on social media? And what is the ruling on taking pictures with family and friends for memory and keeping them on the phone or publishing them on social media?

There is no contradiction between the two fatwas. The first fatwa did not prohibit publishing pictures without need; rather, it stipulated the permissibility of photographic and video imaging, while drawing attention to the difference of opinion and advising to avoid it. It also referred to the ruling on a woman looking at a man. The second fatwa mentioned that there is no harm in a man putting his picture on social media, and that he is not like a woman in this regard.
