The answer

The daughter's son does not inherit from his grandmother because he is neither one of the Ashab al-Furud (those who inherit by fixed shares) nor one of the 'Asabat (residuaries).

If the deceased has no other heirs than those mentioned, then the daughter inherits one half, and the granddaughters (daughters of the son) inherit one-sixth, to complete two-thirds, based on the Almighty’s saying: "And if there are [only] daughters, two or more, for them is two-thirds of what he left; and if there is only one, she will have half."

As for the remaining one-third, the full brother's son inherits it as a residuary ('asabah), based on the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Give the prescribed shares to those who are entitled to them, and whatever remains is for the nearest male heir."

The matter of inheritances must be referred to courts for investigation and to ensure there are no other heirs, wills, debts, or rights that take precedence over the rights of the heirs.
