What is the cause of water coming out of the vagina that is not urine, nor vaginal wetness, nor fluid from arousal, and how can it be treated?

The water in question originates from the vaginal secretions, which are a white discharge that fluctuates between madhy (pre-ejaculate) and sweat. The preponderant opinion is that discharges from the birth canal are pure, while those from the urinary canal are impure. Both, however, invalidate ablution (wudu'). If the discharge of this water is irregular, then ablution is required for each prayer after its time has begun. With this ablution, one may perform the obligatory prayer and as many supererogatory prayers as desired, similar to someone afflicted with incontinence. The cause and method of treating these discharges are not within the purview of the Fatwa Department.
