Vaginal discharge nullifies ablution if it reaches the outer part of the vulva (what becomes visible when relieving oneself), and it is not a condition for it to reach the thigh or clothing. Its presence inside the vagina without exiting does not nullify ablution, and it is not necessary to insert cotton to check. Scholars have differed regarding its purity, and it is more prudent to wash it off. The Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying, "If she sees water," means upon seeing the seminal fluid from a wet dream, and the presence of seminal fluid outside the vulva necessitates ghusl.
