How is the relationship between humans and Satan to be understood, and are humans independent or dual?
The relationship between humans and Satan began as a struggle and challenge ever since Iblees refused to prostrate to Adam and vowed to mislead the Children of Adam. However, Satan has no authority over the believers who put their trust in their Lord, and his plot is weak. A Muslim must beware of Satan, who is an enemy, and must not follow his footsteps, which enjoin indecency and evil. Adhering to the Qur'an and and obeying Allah and His Messenger is the only way to salvation from Satan. A Muslim must acquire beneficial knowledge, recite the Qur'an, associate with the righteous, and frequently engage in the remembrance of Allah and supplications (adhkar) to protect oneself. Humans are independent and free; Allah has granted them the ability to distinguish and choose between good and evil. Satan flows through the son of Adam like blood, but he retreats and distances himself at the remembrance of Allah.
