What are the reasons for salvation from the torment of the grave and the Hereafter?

The cause of the torment of the grave and the torment of the Hereafter is sins and acts of disobedience. There are several general reasons for salvation from the torment of the grave, including: adhering to repentance and seeking forgiveness, increasing good deeds, showing kindness to creation through word, deed, and wealth, and adhering to the prescribed supplications.

And there are specific matters that protect a servant from the torment of the grave, including: reciting Surat Al-Mulk, being stationed on the frontier (ribat) for the sake of Allah, martyrdom for the sake of Allah, death by an abdominal illness, adhering to fasting, and the believers' seeking forgiveness for the deceased.
