A woman's hair is not considered part of the 'awrah (parts of the body that must be covered) that is forbidden to uncover in front of her (unmarriageable kin) men, as long as there is no fear of fitna (temptation). Thus, it is permissible for her to uncover it. Maliki jurists opine that a woman's 'awrah in front of her mahram is her entire body except for the face and extremities (forearms, feet, what is above the collarbone, and hair).
