How can one atone for having wearied one's father—may Allah have mercy on him—during childhood?
What is issued by children before puberty is not subject to accountability, due to the hadith: "The pen has been lifted from three: from the sleeper until he awakens, from the child until he reaches puberty, and from the insane person until he regains his sanity." It is desirable for a child, after the death of his father, to supplicate for him, seek forgiveness for him, honor his friends, and maintain ties of kinship, due to the hadith: "Is there anything left of my parents' righteousness that I can show them after their death? He said: Yes, praying for them, seeking forgiveness for them, fulfilling their promises after them, maintaining ties of kinship that can only be maintained through them, and honoring their friends." It is also good to give charity on his behalf.
