What is the ruling on someone who prayed with tayammum and then found water?

If someone who could not find water performed tayammum and prayed, then found water after the prayer's time had expired, there is no re-performance required of him, by consensus. However, if he found it while there was still time remaining, the preponderant opinion is that re-performance is not required. This is the madhhab of Malik, Ahmad, and Al-Shafi'i. Some jurists, however, held that re-performance is obligatory, and in this case, the worshipper will receive two rewards, as mentioned in the hadith of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri.
