Is it permissible to combine the performance of the Dhuhr prayer after its time has expired with the Asr prayer?

It is not permissible to delay the prayer beyond its appointed time except for a valid excuse, such as combining prayers during travel or illness. In such cases, it is permissible to delay Dhuhr to be prayed with Asr, or vice-versa, and likewise for Maghrib and Isha.
