What is the ruling on breastfeeding another child for one week without satisfying him, and does this make the suckling child a mahram to the daughters of the wet nurse?

This issue is debated among scholars. The preponderant and authoritative opinion is that held by the Shafi'is and Hanbalis, which states that prohibition (of marriage due to fosterage) only occurs with five full, satisfying sucklings within the first two years (of the child's life). A full suckling is defined as when the infant takes the breast and suckles from it until he voluntarily releases it. If five such sucklings occur in this manner, then the daughters of the nursing woman become prohibited for the suckling child (in marriage).
