Is it permissible to remain in Canada—where children may be lost and their Islamic upbringing made difficult, and honoring elderly parents made difficult—or to return to the homeland, where the wife will be forced to remove her hijab, in exchange for a better opportunity to raise children and honor parents?

Raising children according to Islamic principles and honoring one's parents are duties upon every Muslim. The couple must return to a country where they can raise their children Islamically and fulfill their parents' rights. It is not permissible for the wife to remove her hijab unless she is compelled to do so and cannot reside in another country. In such a case, she must stay in her home and safeguard herself, and when the compulsion ceases, wearing the hijab becomes obligatory for her.
