Imam Muslim is Abul-Husayn Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj an-Naysaburi (206-261 AH). He was one of the great imams and memorizers of hadith. He studied under al-Bukhari and others, and traveled extensively in pursuit of hadith. His most famous work is his Sahih, which took fifteen years to compile. In it, he gathered the narrations of a single hadith in one place. The number of its hadiths, including repetitions, is 7275. Among its most famous commentaries is Al-Minhaj by Imam an-Nawawi.
