Should a guest ask his host about his food and drink?

The noble Hadith summarizes: "If one of you enters upon his Muslim brother and he feeds him food, let him eat of his food and not question him about it. And if he gives him a drink from his drink, let him drink from his drink and not question him about it." This Hadith is interpreted to apply to someone who predominantly believes that the Muslim's wealth is lawful and that he avoids prohibitions. Otherwise, it is permissible to inquire, and even obligatory, especially if the Muslim resides in a land of disbelief. In such a case, one should inquire, for example, whether the meat is from an animal that was killed or ritually slaughtered.
