Is it permissible to combine and shorten prayers in Jeddah for someone who came from Al-Qunfudhah, 350 kilometers away, for a one-month training period, and what should he do about the days he shortened his prayers?

The distance between Al-Qunfudhah and Jeddah is considered a distance that permits shortening prayers. Whoever intends to reside in Jeddah for a month is not allowed to shorten the four-rak'ah prayers nor combine them, because travel is interrupted by the intention to reside for four days or more. All prayers that were shortened and combined must be re-offered, unless the one who prayed them was relying on a fatwa from a scholar who permitted that.
