How can one remain steadfast in repentance from repeatedly committing the sin of zina (fornication/adultery) and draw closer to Allah after falling into it many times?

Among the misfortunes of mixed-gender education is the laxity in looking and speaking between the sexes, leading to forbidden relationships that may culminate in immorality. Satan facilitates and beautifies sin, leading a person from one step to another until he causes their downfall. He may even approach a person through the guise of religion and mutual advice. What is obligatory is repentance, cutting off the relationship, and avoiding gatherings even with those who associate with either party, out of fear of the relationship resuming. One should also hasten to marry if able. Crying is not a condition for the acceptance of repentance. It is recommended to seek righteous company among devout youth to cooperate in good deeds and seek knowledge, as this is among the causes of steadfastness.
