The land does not cease to be the property of its owner due to neglect or ruin. What has been legitimately owned cannot be re-owned through revitalization if it becomes ruined. It is not permissible for anyone to take anything from its produce except with the express or customary permission of the owner. This differs from merely eating for someone who passes by the produce without taking it.
