What is the ruling on selling archaeological figurines (complete statues, statue heads, and headless bodies) for the purposes of study, scientific research, and historical inquiry, knowing the difficult financial circumstances?

It is impermissible to manufacture or sell statues and figurines of living beings, because when Allah prohibits something, He also prohibits its price. Furthermore, there is a severe warning against such actions. As for that which has its head removed, it does not fall under the prohibition, and it is permissible to sell and possess it if it is beneficial and not used to assist in something forbidden.
