Is expiation required for causing the death of a litter of kittens due to transporting them on a hot day, and for causing the death of a cat due to its consumption of poisoned food prepared for rats?

There is no sin in accidentally killing cats, based on the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah has pardoned for my Ummah (nation) their mistakes, their forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do." However, intentionally killing them without a legitimate religious purpose is forbidden, and one must repent and seek forgiveness, based on his (peace be upon him) saying: "No human kills a sparrow or anything larger than it without right except that Allah Almighty will question him about it." Accordingly, there is no sin in the death of the cat along with the mice if it was not intended, or if it was not expected that moving the kittens would cause her death.
