How can a pilgrim be sincere to Allah in performing the rituals, and do the intention of trade and seeking provision contradict sincerity to Allah Almighty in Hajj?
Sincerity () is a condition for the validity of all acts of worship, including Hajj. Whoever associates partners with Allah in his actions, Allah will abandon him and his (polytheism). The meaning of sincerity in worship is that the motivation behind it should be the love and glorification of Allah, and the hope for His reward and pleasure. Therefore, worship is not accepted if it is tainted by showing off (riya') or if its purpose is to see places or people. Pilgrims must purify their intentions for Allah. There is no harm in seeking Allah's bounty through trade during Hajj, as long as the primary intention is the worship of Allah. Otherwise, if the sole intention is trade, it invalidates the act or severely diminishes its reward. Whoever desires this world through an act meant for the Hereafter will have no share in the Hereafter.
