Does the wife sin for not returning to the marital bed after the husband asked her to leave, and does the husband sin for asking her to do so?

A man is not obligated to sleep with his wife in the same bed, and it is permissible for each of them to have a separate bed and room, unless this is done as a form of abandonment or neglect of her rights. It is preferable for them to sleep in the same bed, following the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, except in cases of necessity such as illness or fatigue. The permissibility of having multiple beds is supported by the Hadith of Jabir ibn Abdullah, in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "One bed for a man, and one bed for his wife, and the third for the guest, and the fourth for Satan."

A husband should not ask his wife to leave the bed when he is ill; rather, he should be the one to leave if he wishes. The wife is obligated to obey him if there is a suitable place for her to sleep in the house. If he orders her to leave, she is not obligated to return after his recovery if he does not ask her to do so.
