Sciences, especially the Qur’an and its recitations (Qira'at), must be received directly from scholars, not solely from books. As the predecessors (Salaf) said: "Do not take the Qur’an from a person who only reads from a Mushaf (copy of the Qur’an), nor take Hadith from a person who only reads from newspapers."
