The father must financially support his male children until they reach adulthood, become rational, and are able to earn a living. He must support his female children until they get married, provided they are poor and do not possess what would suffice their needs. If a daughter has a salary that covers her expenses, then her financial support is not obligatory upon the father, and she has no right to demand it. The financial support of a married daughter is not obligatory. If the father is in financial difficulty and the mother is well-off, then the financial support becomes obligatory upon the mother and is considered a debt owed by the father.
