Is it permissible to ban jokes and fictional stories, written for entertainment and amusement in forums, on the grounds that they are haram and lies, knowing that their authors do not intend to lie by them?

It has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "Woe to him who speaks a narration to make people laugh thereby, and he lies. Woe to him, woe to him." Lying is the head of every dispraiseworthy act. If it is coupled with an attempt to evoke laughter, which hardens the heart, it becomes the most abominable of abominations. Fabricating humorous fictional stories falls within the scope of lying, because it is an informing about something contrary to reality. Scholars have unanimously agreed on the prohibition of lying in principle, except that making people laugh through lies is considered a disregarded interest in Islamic law. As for composing fictional stories for good purposes, such as teaching virtues or striking parables, its ruling is different.
