Am I afflicted with a love for women?

A man's inclination towards women and a woman's inclination towards men is a sound natural disposition (fitra) upon which Allah created humanity for the purpose of populating the earth and multiplying offspring. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "From this worldly life, women and perfume have been made beloved to me, and the coolness of my eyes has been made in prayer."

The satisfaction of this inclination is through marriage (nikah), which Allah has made lawful, and it is the practice of the Messengers. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Four things are from the practices of the Messengers: circumcision, using the siwak, perfuming oneself, and marriage."

If a believer is prevented from lawful marriage, then they must fear Allah and be patient, in compliance with the words of Allah Almighty: "And let those who find not [the means for] marriage abstain [from sexual relations] until Allah enriches them from His bounty." And for whoever is unable to marry, they must fast, for it is a shield for them.
