Is it permissible to leave after Tarawih prayers without completing the Witr prayer?

There is no harm for the follower to leave before the Imam completes the Tarawih prayer, but it is better for the follower to wait until the Imam finishes his prayer to gain the reward of a night's worship, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever prays with the Imam until he departs, it will be recorded for him as if he had spent the whole night in prayer."
